The title of the book couldn't help but induce overwhelming scepticism in me. Surely if picking up gorgeous women was this simple then there wouldn't be a single one left for any of all of these AFC's that Mystery pities? But with such an overwhelming response from so many sources I couldn't help but be intrigued enough to pick this book up.

The book, all in all, comes across as a mix between an explanation of human evolution and an array of pick up lines ranging from the amusing to the bizarre. On the one hand, Mystery tells men to appeal to women's interest in your 'Survival and Reproduction' value and in the next sentence he'll advise approaching a random girl in a bar and asking if she'll 'pull your finger'. For the 'world's greatest' pick up artist this method seems ever so slightly disappointing.

The Mystery Method walks you step by step through the stages of attracting women, comforting them and finally seducing them, stating that the emphasis is not to get women to sleep with you, but rather to get them to fall in love with you.

Mystery explains many of his tactics, such as: Wingmen, Negs, Demonstrating Higher Value, Storytelling and plenty more. These tactics usually start filled with promise, yet sadly, they far too often seem to take a slightly childish and even bullying approach. It seems that most of these 'masterful' tactics involve lowering a target's self esteem to the point where she'll believe she has won the lottery when you finally lower your standards and sleep with her. For a man that claims to be writing this book through his love of women, his close to abusive tactics are extremely disheartening.

The Mystery Method quickly finds itself drowning in a sea of useless PUA (Pick Up Artist) jargon. There were so many 'DHV's, 'IOI's and 'ASD's, that it soon reads more like a manual on how to disarm an atomic bomb than a simple handbook on how to increase your dating prospects. With extended repetition of numerous ideas throughout the book, I felt that by the time I had finished it, I knew no more than I did when I was halfway through.

Positives that must be mentioned are Mystery's use of detailed diagrams, short notes and speech ideas in the midst of the long chapters and a glossary at the end decoding some of the acronyms. These help to break up some of the long, monotonous passages filled with dubious methods on attracting women.

The book does have its merits, if few and far between; upon close inspection you will find some very clever, charming and useful pieces of advice. Whether it's an innocuous opening line or an amusing game to introduce to a woman, this book can help you hurdle the initial obstacles of approaching new people. It will also help you to really understand and evaluate your social surroundings - this book can help give you confidence and make you a more friendly and lively person. However, I do not think that there's any 'Mystery Method' that will guarantee that you consistently bed beautiful women.

For me, Mystery couldn't deliver what he promised on the cover. Even though he himself admits that there is not a singular dialogue that can be used on every woman, I don't feel he has even come close to supplying enough information for everyone to bed a beautiful woman with ease. The main emphasis in his book is that a lot of time and effort must be spent in 'the field'. This means that the more you go out and talk to women, the more confident and socially apt you will become, increasing your chances of securing beautiful women and I couldn't agree more. Aside from a few choice lines and novel ideas, this book can't propel your love life to soaring heights over night. If I'd written a book that promised so much and delivered so little, I too might have just signed off as 'Mystery'.

Recommendations: 
Anyone who really has no clue how to begin approaching women. Or someone desperately in need of a confidence boost. This book might make you a few friends, but don't set your targets too high, these 10/10 woman probably won't come chasing after you.
